Where brands lose
money in Turkey

The problems are concrete and expensive. They are also predictable, which means they can be planned for.

  1. 01

    The wrong distributor

An exclusive partner that also carries competing brands, or has no reach in your segment, can lock you out of the market for years.

  2. 02

A TL price list inflation eats

List prices set once in TL lose margin every month. Pricing needs clear rules for updates, discounts and approvals.

  3. 03

    Payment terms and cheques

Long payment terms and post dated cheques are normal here. Without rules they quietly become your financing cost.

  4. 04

    TSE, tax and import rules

Certification, special consumption tax and import permits change the landed price and the timeline. They belong in the plan from day one.

Four services.
Fixed scope, fixed fee.

Every engagement starts with a defined scope, a delivery date and a fixed fee in EUR, proposed within 48 hours of the first call.

The price walk

A car bought at 100 reaches the Turkish consumer at 239.

Index from a Turkey distribution plan, 2025.

Above 160 kW the special consumption tax rises to 65%, and the same car costs 316.

CASE · 2025

A Turkey distribution plan for a foreign electric vehicle brand

A regional holding with automotive dealerships asked for the business plan it would present to the brand's headquarters. The 14 page plan had six sections:

  1. Regulation and tax map
  2. Benchmark of 10 competing B and D segment SUVs
  3. Import to list price model
  4. Three phase launch plan
  5. 5 year volume forecast by model
  6. Organisation

The tax bracket decided the line up: the same car lands at 239 or 316 depending on motor power.

Client and brand names are withheld, prices are indexed.
